Co-operative Education

Is a time proven approach, used worldwide, for introducing employers to students in specialized fields of work. An academic curriculum integrated with full time paid work terms, "Co-op" gives employers an opportunity to shape the development of potential employees.

Because the Co-op program alternates study semesters with productive, full-time employment, employers are able to preview new recruits before they reach the job market, while students gain experience in their field of study. Participating employers vary from small businesses to large multi-national corporations, government agencies, non-profit organizations and designated professional practices.

Langara Co-operative Education takes 30 years of experiential learning and sets a path demonstrating to students how to showcase their skills and abilities. Our goal is to provide possibilities to our students and employers, building winning work place experiences.

What our students have to say

“My resume went from being embarrassingly bare, to proudly over-loaded with valuable skill-sets employers are searching for. Over the past three co-op terms, I've taken away project management experience, Internet marketing, and event planning experience I would have never had, would I have chose to put co-op on the back burner."
